HOST Helps Earn LEED Credits
The US Green Building Council’s LEED (Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design) for Existing Buildings: Operations & Maintenance Rating System® “is a voluntary, consensus-based, national standard for developing high-performance, sustainable buildings.” Using the HOST Dry Extraction Carpet Cleaning System can contribute to earning credits to achieve and maintain building certification. Unlike other green cleaning systems, the HOST System goes beyond green cleaning and may also contribute to Innovation in Operations credits regarding water and wastewater conservation, energy conservation, and Integrated Pest Management.
Corporate Environmental Performance
HOST’s environmental scores for the National Institute of Standards and Technology’s Building for Environmental and Economic Sustainability Life Cycle Analysis are the best in the carpet cleaning category, leaving HOST with the smallest environmental footprint around. We intend to keep it that way.
Environmental Management Approach
Many small efforts add up to making a big environmental impact. For instance, we give shipping preference to those using renewable resources. We use point-of-use water heaters to minimize heat loss through pipes and reclaim heat elsewhere to be reused. We source locally and recycle extensively. We are on the constant lookout for other such opportunities.
